[SDBUG] rack space, anyone?

Koll is damn nice, but probably the most expensive hosting in town, and last
I heard they were at capacity. They may not necessarily maxed out on cage
and cabinet space (they were at one time, may still be), but their power
infrastructure was a bit tapped. Their largest client switched to blade
servers awhile back and really started chewing juice. And, we all know what
our favorite by-product of expended energy is, and it's pretty difficult to
beef up the A/C in a crowded datacenter.

Now this was about a year ago, their situation could have changed. But
after the business changed ownership, and nuked most of the employees in
that building, I doubt much has been done to rectify the situation.

For comparison sake, I've got a friend in there at $800/mbit, and last time
I called for a quote they wouldn't quote me for anything under 3 or 4 mbit.

There is also the Koll ATT Data Center behind the Qualcomm Design
Center, but I don't know if they do onesies or twosies, as they cage up
a space first, then occupy it with infrastructure. May not be worth
their effort. But hey a buck is a buck :)

This is good food for thought, actually. Anyone else have Data Center
info for SD?
Recommendations, non-recommendations? Errr, have we done this already?!

Who else is good in town? I have a similar need but could go anywhere
with decent connectivity. I'd rather colo my box than do a shared
hosting thing. I'd like to get a couple servers out of my home office
to reduce heat and power side effects.
